Hoor wat skryf Max Lucado oor die vraag: Wat is jou prioriteite?

Die lugmaggeneraal het op sy afskeidsparty met aftrede vyf- of seshonderd van die militêre personeel toegespreek. Hy het gesê die prioriteite in sy lewe was sy geloof, en daarna sy gesin. “Toe ek besluit het om by die magte aan te sluit, het ek geweet ek sal eendag weer moet weggaan. As ek die mag my hele lewe gemaak het, wat sou vandag gebeur het? Maar omdat my geloof en my gesin die belangrikste in my lewe is, het ek dit nog alles.”

Beloved, this is a time of second chances. You will recognize this path because you’ve been this way before. However, it will be of great benefit to you if you will take the time and put forth the effort to pay attention to details. Discern My work as opposed to the work of flesh or the work of the enemy so that you can respond differently than you have in the past. There are some life lessons here that will serve you well if you will see things in the light of revelation and discern the difference between reacting in the flesh or responding in the Spirit, says the Lord.

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by Marsha Burns — Nov. 25, 2009:

We have been through a period of the past seven months where the Lord has brought about astounding changes in our lives. He has done a work of bringing us into a complete and divine order, which seemed at the time to be really, really difficult because we didn’t fully understand what He was doing. He had to bring destruction in ways that would cause us to let go of the things that would hinder His plans and purposes for us. I’m not absolutely sure, but it looks like we are at the end of this re-ordering process. I believe this was confirmed as I experienced an unnatural fatigue as though I had completed a long and exhausting journey. Yet, when I awoke, I was completely refreshed and awake; not just awake from a night’s sleep, but awake and alert from a dark and deep spiritual sleep. And, I believe that we have entered a new day of heightened discernment and clarity together with a sense of release and purpose that will help us yield more completely and move unhindered in the flow of the Holy Spirit.

Toe die weiveld wat hulle gedeel het, te klein raak vir hul vee, het Abram vir Lot gesê: “… Hierdie getwis tussen ons veewagters moet einde kry…Ons is tog naby familie” (Genesis 13:8 NLV). Ons kan twee belangrike lesse hieruit leer:

1) Moenie wag nie, neem die inisiatief. Abram het nie gesê: “Ek gaan nie hierby betrokke raak nie.” Nee, hy het besef dat hy die saak sou moes aanroer voordat dit ‘n wig tussen hulle sou indryf. Insig (om vooruit te sien) is wat nodig is om langtermynverhoudings te bou. God het kort gelede vir Abram belowe: “…Ek sal jou seën sodat jy geëerd sal wees…” (Genesis 12:2 NLV). Sodanige seën vra om wysheid. Vir God se belofte aan Abram om vervul te word, moes hy hierdie situasie reg hanteer. Niemand hou van konfrontasie nie, maar ter wille van jou toekomstige vrede en voorspoed, is dit belangrik dat jy dinge reg hanteer voordat dit hand uit ruk.

2) Moenie bekommerd wees dat jy ingedoen mag word nie, God sal jou vergoed. Lot, die jonger man, kies toe die vrugbare, waterryke Jordaanvlakte, en los Abram met die kortste end. Omdat hy ouer was, kon Abram seker rang getrek het en aangedring het op die beter grond, maar hy het nie. Hy het twee dinge besef: a) Hy het sy verhouding met Lot ontgroei en dit was tyd om met grasie uit te tree, en b) Sy waardes en doelwitte was onversoenbaar met Lot se idees. Lot se keuse het opgegaan in vlamme, maar dit wat Abram gekies het, is tot seën gemaak vir die hele mensdom. So, wees ‘n vredemaker en wandel in God se seën.
